Vök Release Video, Announce Kex Show

Moody pop trio Vök have unveiled the video for their new single, “Waiting.”

The video, which is inspired by Iceland’s nature and features some “greatest hits” like Reynisfjara and the Blue Lagoon, was directed by Glashier, who had this to say of the experience:

“It was a real pleasure to make a video for a song this good and the challenge of shooting ended up being very rewarding. It was a big motivator to find a way of portraying extreme Icelandic environments in unique and different ways, as the band had specific ideas about what they did and did not want to show. It was also great experiencing those landscapes with the band, travelling and learning bits about history and literature directly connected to landscapes we were in.”

Vök were the winners of Músíktilraunir, Iceland’s national battle-of-the-bands contest, in 2013, and their The xx-inspired sound has been making waves internationally of late. Their new EP, “Circles,” is out now on CD & Vinyl, and they’ll play at Kex on March 23rd.
