The masked electronic duo Vaginaboys have just released a new song dedicated to those who have lost their lives in search of a better life. And they’re playing at a UNICEF Fundraiser!
The goal of UNICEF is to provide humanitarian aid and assistance to children and mothers in developing nations—their funding comes from governments, as well as private donors. To help out, KEX Hostel will be hosting a fundraising event for the people of Syria. Some musical acts performing are the doe-eyed, electronic indie-pop master Sin Fang, Icelandic post-punkersMammút, along with FM Belfast, Agent Fresco, and more. This is one event you don’t want to miss—for the performers, sure; and for the cause as well!
The full lineup is as follows:
DJ Flugvél og geimskip
The gig starts at 15:30. Admission: 2,500 ISK.

UNICEF: Shock Must Be Met With Action
These children and their families need help, and they need it now. The vast majority of those fleeing the conflict are still within Syria’s borders. About one third are in the neighbouring countries. Only a fraction has made it to Europe.
UNHCR: “Saving Lives Should Always Be A Prerogative”
The UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) is tasked with both providing solutions for refugees, and monitoring and supporting different states in implementing international law. Its Northern Europe representative is Pia Prytz Phiri, who has visited Iceland on two occasions to observe and comment on how the nation deals with both “asylum seekers” and refugees.
