Sigur Rós Announce 2013 North American Tour

Off the back of their headlining set at Airwaves, Sigur Rós have this morning announced a 13-date tour of North America for 2013.
Starting March 24 in Washington DC, the tour will be the band’s largest to date.
General ticket sales for the tour open on November 16, but we hear there’s a nifty little presale starting TODAY, giving fans a jumpstart on everyone else. Psst, the password is ‘brennisteinn’ (it means sulphur in Icelandic).
Purchased tickets will come with a three-track EP, which promises to contain ‘new and unreleased’ material from the group.
In addition to the American tour, Sigur Rós will tour the United Kingdom, Europe and Japan through the first half of 2013. Check the band’s website for dates: http://www.sigur-ros.co.uk/tour/.

In the meantime, 17 commissioned films from the Valtari Film Experiment will be screened around the world over the weekend of December 7-9. The first one can be viewed below.

FILM #1: Ég anda by Ragnar Kjartansson.
