PREMIERE: FANCY NEW PRINSPÓLÓ TRACK!

Published March 29, 2012

We got an email the other day asking if we wanted to premiere a new song and video by the musical act Prinspóló. Of course, we said: yes! And here is the track! It is called “Landspítalinn” (this means “The National Hospital”) and it is exactly four minutes long and it is pretty great!

Here is a letter Prinspóló sent us to go along with the video:

Honorable friends!
Prinspóló is releasing a new song, called “Landspítalinn” (e. “The National Hospital”). The song is an anthem for the Hospital but it marks as the beginning and the end for many Icelanders, at least those who choose to be born there and die. This is not the first anthem by Prinspóló because on ‘Jukk’ (his first LP) is a song called “Mjaðmir” (e. hips) but that is the official anthem of KF Mjöðm (FC Hips), a very famous football team in Iceland, but that is another story.
What is better than a new song being released? Nothing you might think but we think a video premiere is better and hence we are also premiering a video for “Landspítalinn”. The video is made by the Herd. You can watch the video right here or on www.prinspolo.com. You can also buy the song on www.gogoyoko.com and stream it for free. Of course!
Mr. Prinspóló did not do all this himself, he was assisted by the following people: Berglind Häsler, Árni Rúnar Hlöðversson, Kristján Freyr Halldórsson, Guðm. Kristinn Jónsson, Birgir Jón Birgisson, Baldvin Esra Einarsson, Loji Höskuldsson and some more.
One might add that Prinspóló is setting sails to Denmark in the beginning of May and will perform in Copenhagen (May 3rd) and Aarhus (May 4th and 5th).
And that tomorrow (Friday) the band will play a free show at Harpa Kaldalón, along with Sudden Weather Change. That show starts at 17:30.
Your majesty,
Prinspóló
