Stockfish European Film Festival Is Starting

February 19 - March 1

From February 19-March 1 The Stockfish European Film Festival will be held for the first time. It is the reincarnation of the original Reykjavík Film Festival that was held from 1978-2001 and the succeeding European Film Festival in Reykjavík that has run over the last few years. In other words, it’s a brand spanking new festival that’s actually been around since before the mullet.

It will be held at Bío Paradís and screens over 30 films including ‘Flugparken’, ‘Party Girl’, ‘Black Coal’, ‘Thin Ice’, ‘Goodbye to Language 3D’ and ‘The Kidnapping of Michel Houellebecq’.

‘Flugparken’, the opening film, will be attended by Guldbaggen winning actor Sverrir Guðnason and director Jens Östberg. The festival will host various filmmakers and actors who were involved in the making of the films.

In addition to the screenings, local filmmakers are invited to take part in seminars, workshops and master classes.
