Get ready to lip sync…for…your…life! Because the most sickening reality show of all time, RuPaul’s Drag Race is coming to Iceland in the form of Battle of the Seasons, a take-no-prisoners travelling circus featuring live performances by the most popular queens in the show’s history.
For the uninitiated, the show features drag queens dressing to impress queen bee RuPaul to snatch the coveted title of America’s Next Drag Superstar. RuPaul‘s Drag Race truly is the pentathlon of competitive reality shows—a heady combination of Project Runway, America’s Next Top Model, X Factor, Bad Girls Club and American Gladiators… as directed by John Waters.
To win, drag queens need to design, perform skits, do impressions, milk laughs, sing, dance, walk the walk, talk the talk, and throw more shade than a herd of giraffes charging into stage lights.
You can trust that Grapevine will attend. And so should you. So prepare to binge on all the fabulosity God and lubrication can shoehorn into ten-inch heels. The queens are finally here to show us Eskimos how to embrace our inner charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent.
To warm up for the event we got some of the queens (and honorary queen Michelle Visage) to answer some hard-hitting questions. On video, no less! Because, for some things, words just aren’t enough.
Michelle Visage
Host of the travelling show. Panel judge. Evil stepmother.
Ivy Winters
Designer queen who gave the show its most persistent catchphrase
Jinkx Monsoon
Responsible for the second-best Little Edie impression. Right after Little Edie herself.
Sharon Needles
“Free-spirited goth queen” (which, incidentally, gives us the anagram “Period Queef Tighteners” )
