An AI-generated video showing a teacher and student kissing was distributed among students in Víðistaðaskóli primary school, RÚV reports.
In conversation with RÚV, principal Dagný Kristinsdóttir claims that school authorities were immediately aware of the video and managed to trace its origins quickly.
Dagný says the matter is treated seriously. School authorities spoke with students and the parents of those involved. Special care was taken in discussing the matter with the child responsible for creating the video.
According to Dagný, this is the first incident of its kind among primary schools.
In a separate news article, RÚV reported that the municipality of Hafnarfjörður — which runs Víðistaðaskóli — has reported the incident to the police. As per the Icelandic penal code, the case could be treated as digital sexual violence.
