Severe flight disruptions are being caused by a northern and northwestern storm sweeping across Iceland. Numerous flights have been cancelled, though some remain on schedule, reports RÚV.
Sixteen departures from Keflavík Airport had already been cancelled early this morning. Guðjón Helgason, spokesperson for Isavia, advised travellers with booked flights to closely monitor Isavia’s announcements.
Many domestic flights have also been cancelled, and the weather is expected to have a significant impact. Morning flights between Reykjavík and Akureyri, as well as between Egilsstaðir and Reykjavík, have been cancelled.
