A picture of a completely useless disabled parking space close to Hlemmur bus station in central Reykjavík has gone viral, reports Vísir.

“This is obviously a completely ridiculous place to put a parking space,” said Ellen Calmon of  Öryrkjabandalag Íslands (Organisation of Disabled in Iceland).

Ellen told Vísir that the parking spot is yet another way that Reykjavík is failing disabled people.

“People in wheelchairs have an incredibly difficult time moving around in the city. Stairs and curbs have not been altered to aid accessibility, as promised” said Ellen.

Ellen believes Mayor Dagur B. Eggertsson and Reykjavík City Hall need to step in immediately to fix not only the terrible disabled parking space pictured above, but also increase disabled access throughout the entire city.
