Icelandic President To Speak At World Economic Forum

Icelandic President Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson will be among the many speakers at this year’s World Economic Forum (WEC).
The official site for the WEC has the president among the speakers on the subject of “The Economic Malaise and Its Perils”. Other speakers on the subject will be Guy Ryder, Mohd Najib Bin Tun Abdul Razak, Jim Hagemann Snabe, Li Daokui and Ali Babacan, with the discussion moderated by Kamahl Santamaria.
The session, developed in partnership with Al-Jazeera, will address “near- and long-term political and societal risks [that] are arising from the economic malaise”. It will be aired, live and online, here on January 25, 9:15 CET.
Ólafur will be in interesting company at this year’s WEC. Other speakers at the event include former UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown, former Republican presidential candidate John McCain, and former National Security Advisor Henry Kissinger.
The WEC involves over 3,000 participants representing all sectors of global society, from business and government figures to spiritual and media leaders. The entire series of speaking sessions will be livestreamed on the official site from January 22 – 26.
