These last four days have really been quite the adventure for our Airwaves reporters, as they poured over venue after venue to review as many artists as we could, Icelandic and elsewise, while our photographer team captured the energy of the performances. We couldn’t have done this without the help of these fine people, and that includes American radio host and DJ Tim Pogo, who hosted our Airwaves 2019 Tuned In podcasts and interviewed many talented performers.

In case you missed it, or in case you want to relive the magic all over again, here’s your Iceland Airwaves compilation of coverage.

At Day 1, Tim spoke with Sindri Már Sigfússon of Seabear and Sin Fang; legendary Icelandic rapper Cell7, and Airwaves booking director Sindri Ástmarsson. Our reporters were very excited to review the first day extensively, and were especially impressed with Blóðmör, had mixed feelings about Orville Peck, but positively adored Countess Malaise.

As we slid into the second day of four, Tim brought us a wonderful conversation with the Canadian sisters from The Garrys and much more. The second day was also an electrifying time for our reporters, as the review had especially glowing things to say about Paladin and Seabear.

Tim gave us a bit of extra love on day three—not only did his podcast engage in conversation with Elda Suryani of Stars And Rabbit; he also took an exclusive interview with the incomparable Une Misère. Meanwhile, our reporter team was especially impressed with Hatari, who can never seem to disappoint audiences, and were very charmed by Gabriel Ólafs.

On the fourth and final day, Tim capped things off with a podcast with Boy Azooga, Ösp from Hrím and Katla from Between Mountains. As our reviewers were happy but exhausted from all the action, they were especially pleased with the chill vibe of JóiPé & Króli, amongst many others. In fact, the only low point of the evening seemed to be that a larger venue was not provided to the enormously talented Bashar Murad, who by all accounts touched hearts and got legs moving.
