Shiny Darkly (DK)

Shiny Darkly take the listener to a dark, highly electric, narcotic, drone-like universe. Kristoffer Bech’s chanting and insisting vocals are reminiscent of great personalities such as Nick Cave and Ian Curtis. It’s hard to believe that a 22-year-old kid from fashionable Frederiksberg, Copenhagen can carry such darkness, such weltschmerz and infinite longing. They are the most recent band to be added to the Crunchy Frog family of bands and they have had a lot of praise – especially in the UK – on their debut EP. They also played SPOT, Roskilde, Reeperbahn and CMW. They have been presented as the new important band from Denmark at Clashmusic + in Artrocker Magazine (both print and online as their “new blood” picks + song of the day) and have done sessions for their radio show as well. John Kennedy at XFM is playing their music in his influential programme. Also KEXP in Seattle, KCRW in LA and more than 100 college radios in the US have picked up on this very young, but very cool band.
