At 17:00 at Bar 11 I’m playing my third and final show of Airwaves 2015 with my band Just Another Snake Cult. After this I’ll probably catch my breath and grab some food.

I make a year-round effort to check out all the music happening in Reykjavík, so my focus at Airwaves isn’t so much on catching the best bands as it is seeing things I haven’t seen yet.

I’m curious about a new psychedelic rock band called Par-Ðar playing at Harpa Kaldalón at 8pm.

After that I’ll probably just head upstairs, where there are a bunch of things I want to see happening at the same time, but probably it’ll be no problem to peak back and forth between Harpa’s Silfurberg and Norðurljós. I’m curious to see Milkywhale at Norðurljós, which is a new hyper electronic pop project with Árni Plúseinn from FM Belfast. The singer is a dancer, and so I’m excited to see what kind of performance they put on.

Then I want to catch as much of Perfume Genius at Silfurberg as I can. He has an amazing voice, and after our tour manager kept playing “Queen” I always have it stuck in my head. But I’m also curious to peak in and see what Bianca Casady from CocoRosie is doing next door, in Norðurljós.

Rumour has it Sin Fang will be performing with a full band at Norðurljós, which it feels like years since I’ve seen him do that last. But Ariel Pink is at the same time, in Silfurberg, and I love both bands for the same reasons. Both of them do really inventive indie pop. So I’ll probably just be running back and forth the whole time.

Þórir is the man behind Just Another Snake Cult, which is a lo-fi pop band. He’s only playing one more show at Airwaves:
