The 22-member collective Reykjavíkurdætur has made headlines in Reykjavík over the past year, and shows no signs of slowing down. Indeed, when three members come in for a photo shoot, they tell me they have two new songs coming up, and a video, too. “It’s sort of half the crew in one, and the other half in the other,” Anna Tara Andrésdóttir tells me.

Another daughter, Kolfinna Nikkulásdóttir, says she had a great time at Airwaves, noting how she wished she had gotten to see more. “Tanya Pollock was awesome, and I squeezed in to see the Knife. I just wish I had gotten to sit up on the balcony, it looked very nice. Getting to do Gunnar of Grísalappalísa’s makeup was my highlight though, for sure.”

Anna Tara mentions that Kelela ws great, but the third daughter, Bergþóra Einarsdóttir, missed most of the festival as she had a nasty case of the flu. “I just saw a few off-venue concerts, and that’s it,” she says.

Reykjavíkurdætur is playing their fourth and last show tonight at Húrra at 21:00. Be sure not to miss them.
