Musician Rúnar Þórisson just released a new video from his third solo album, ‘Sérhver vá.’ Best known for his unique guitar work with Icelandic new wave legends Grafík, for his solo project Rúnar has drafted in his two daughters and stepsons. And he loves working with the young’uns: “The people I’m practicing and playing live shows with are the same people that come over for Sunday roast, and they are also the parents of my grandchildren.”

Rúnar is playing his official Iceland Airwaves gig tonight at Frederiksen, at 22:30. He says that with the exception of two songs, the material he’ll be playing all comes from his latest album, which is equally influenced by classical music and rock. “The songs and lyrics encompass a wide range of emotions, from the dark and negative to the bright and positive,” he says, “with musings about life, nature, love and the future.”

Rúnar Þórisson will be joined by Lára Rúnarsdóttir (keyboard/vocal), Arnar Gíslason (drums, also in ÍKORNI, Lára Rúnars, and Pétur Ben), Margrét Rúnarsdóttir (keyboard/vocal), Birkir Rafn Gíslason (guitar, also in Himbrimi, Klassart, Lay Low, and Lára Rúnars), in addition to the only non-family member, Guðni Finnsson (bass).
