From Iceland — Sing Fang Remixes Australian Artist Gordi

Sing Fang Remixes Australian Artist Gordi

Published May 13, 2015

Sin Fang doesn’t produce an awful lot of remixes, but when he does, they’re pretty great. His latest reworking is of Australian artist Gordi, who has long been obsessed with Iceland. “A lot of the music coming out of Iceland at the moment is a fusion of folk and electronica, which I was really inspired by,” says Gordi. “The songs have a beautiful, ethereal quality and show a real battle of light and dark.”

On how the collaboration came about, she says: “A while back I was trawling through blogs and playlists and I came across the song ‘Young Boys’ by Sin Fang. As soon as I heard it I was hooked on the interesting vocal layers and raw percussion sounds that gave it a really unique sound. I was instantly a fan!”

On the track ‘Taken Blame’, Sin Fang adds a choir of pitch-shifted vocals and a languid rhythm, in his trademark spacious, wistful production style. Stream the track below, and find out more about Gordi here.
