Icelandic acts Pink Street Boys and the Grapevine’s Band of the Year 2014, Prins Póló, have been nominated for the Phonofile Nordic Music Prize.
While this reporter is entirely biased due to national affiliation, outside the Finnish Mirel Wagner – whose skeletal bluesy goth anthem No Death brought said biased reporter to tears – no one stands a chance against these Icelandic boys.

The Phonofile Nordic Music Prize, inspired by the British & Irish Mercury Prize was introduced in 2010. This year’s winner will receive a check for 500.000 ISK or about 4.000 USD, provided by GramArt.
Former winners include Jónsi (ICE), Goran Kajfes (SE), First Aid Kit (SE), and most recently The Knife (SE).
