Come to Iceland! Come to Iceland! No, no wait. Stay there. We’ll bring Iceland to you. The Icelandic post-rock dreamscapers and one of the top five answers given to the question: “why Iceland?” Sigur Rós, have just announced their Spring 2017 North America Tour.

The band will travel as a trio and perform, as on their tours before, without any supporting acts. The concerts will span two decades of music with an intermission, and “if things go to plan,” according to their website, new, unreleased music. The tour begins in Mexico City before entering California and then looping throughout the States and Canada.

On April 13, 14 and 15 the band will play three consecutive shows in Los Angeles with the LA Philharmonic at Walt Disney Concert Hall. This is the first time the band will play publicly with an orchestra since their 2002-2003 shows of Odin’s Raven Magic. The shows are a specially slotted during the first ever Reykjavík Festival hosted by the LA Philharmonic and curated by Esa-Pekka Salonen and the Icelandic composer and Bedroom Community member, Daníel Bjarnarson.
