The owner of Hótel Djúpavík has been bombarded with questions, from tourists and reporters alike, regarding the exact location of where Justice League is being filmed. Workers at the hotel have been tight-lipped, and the reticence of Icelanders is one of the reasons why Iceland was chosen for filming, Icelandic production company True North says.

RÚV reports that employees at the hotel, as well as other locals, have all signed a non-disclosure agreement with the Hollywood production team currently filming Justice League. As reported, there has been considerable secrecy around the exact film lots, and even private security have been hired to keep people at bay.

Magnús Karl Pétursson, the hotel director, told reporters that keep a lid on filming has gone “pretty well”, despite attempts by reporters to ask “trick questions” or otherwise coerce information out of the locals.

This kind of respect for secrecy is a part of the national character, True North managing director Helga Margrét Reykdal.

“Icelanders are a very proud people and they stand by what they sign,” she said. “And that’s one of the reasons why foreign parties want to film in Iceland. They appreciate it.”
