As announced on the city’s official site, Reykjavík Pride Week has reached its high point: the Pride march that winds its way through the city.

The march begins at 14:00 at the BSÍ bus terminal and makes its way to Arnarhóll, where the festivities will continue with an outdoor concert. The general public are welcome to take part in the march itself, or simply follow the parade from the sidelines.

In order to make way for the parade, several downtown streets will be closed to vehicular traffic for a few hours. This map details the parade route (in yellow) and what streets will be closed (in red) during which times.

This year’s Pride march will include a special float just for Pride organisers, which includes Mayor Dagur B. Eggertsson.

Reykjavík Pride is one of the most largely-attended festivals in Iceland, rivaling even June 17 Independence Day celebrations.
