A bill from the Ministry of the Interior will, if passed, make it illegal to make your own explosives.

RÚV reports that the bill is crafted to be in harmony with European regulations regarding the restriction and supervision of materials used to manufacture explosives.

Currently, there is no law which prohibits people from making explosives in their homes. However, ministerial regulations do ban such manufacturing, but requires legislative backing in order to be enforceable.

In addition, language needs to be added to existing legislation on the use of personal information, in order to accommodate legislation regarding the supervision, restriction and registration of explosive chemicals and chemical blends.
