There were 43% more tourists last month than there were in February 2015, according to data from the Icelandic Tourist Board.

According to their findings, about 100,000 people departed from Keflavík International Airport last month, or about 30,000 more than departed from the location in February 2015.

Of these tourists, 81% were represented by just ten nationalities. Brits comprised the largest share, at 43%, followed by Americans, Chinese, Germans, French, Japanese, Norwegians, Dutch, Danes and then Swedes.

At the same time, Americans, Brits and Chinese increased their numbers, while tourists from Denmark, Norway and Switzerland declined.

Tourism’s increase was not just been the domain of non-Icelanders, either. Some 29,000 Icelanders departed from Keflavík International Airport last February, marking a 23.3% increase from the same month in 2015.
