The cost of parking your car in downtown Reykjavík has goes up on Monday.

Vísir reports that the fee increase will depend on where the parking spaces are. Different parking areas in the capital are designated by zones.

Zone 1 parking will go from 230 ISK to 250 ISK per hour, Zone 2 and Zone 4 parking will remain at 125 ISK per hour, and Zone 3 parking will go from 85 ISK for the first two hours to 90 ISK per hour and a fee of 20 ISK added for every hour after that.

Just a little over two years ago, parking fees were increased by 200%. Before that, it had not been raised since 2000.
