Jumping Out Of 2015 And Running Into 2016!

Published December 28, 2015

ÍR is hosting its annual New Year’s Eve run December 31 at noon, sharp. Last year there were over 1.200 participants in the run and the same amount is expected this year. The weather forecast sounds promising and this year will be the run’s 40th anniversary so it’s definitely an event not to be missed.

The event is less about competing and more about enjoying the start of a new year. Awards will be granted to the most successful runners, the best costumes and also about 100 various runners get a prize. It is a delightful way to say goodbye to the year that is passing and a great way to start the new one.

The run is approximately 10 km and starts at Harpa Concert Hall. The course is relatively flat and the view on the way is beautiful. Afterwards light refreshments are served in Harpa, awards are granted and participants get a chance to wish each other a happy new year.

Pre-sale is until midnight on Tuesday, December 29. Register here!

Tickets may also be purchased on December 30 and 31 from 09:30 to 11:00 at Harpa and are 2.700 ISK for adults and 1.500 for children (15 and younger).
