VIDEO: What Did Iceland’s Shortest Day Look Like?

The winter solstice is here in Reykjavík–actually anywhere in the northern hemisphere. Today is the shortest day of the year, with only 4 hours and 7 minutes of daylight. Lucky for us, Austrian video journalists Sarah Brugner and Michael Luger were able to capture it in a stunning video for Der Standard.

Living in the darkness can have strange effects on humans…and animals. Recently, a couple of our wonderful interns started cataloguing their Seasonal Affective Disorder. However, I’m still convinced winter is the best time to be in Iceland.
