A whale watching company in Akureyri has released some spectacular drone footage of whales in action.

Whale watching company Ambassador Akureyri took these drone shots last weekend, which are best watched in fullscreen and in high definition. “Because of certain underwater currents and perfect conditions for humback whales it’s a true paradise for whale watching and enjoying the beautiful nature surrounding this small friendly town in the north of Iceland,” they write in the video description.

Vísir reports that this past summer has been an especially good time for whale watching. In fact, workers at Ambassador Akureyri told reporters they could not recall a better summer for seeing humpbacks and other whales gallivanting and cavorting in the waves.
