President Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson says he is undecided if we will run again, while most Icelanders are still undecided on who they would even vote for.

Kjarninn reports that, in an interview on television station Hringbraut, the president said he has received words of encouragement to both run again and to step aside. While he is undecided whether he will run for president next year, he will have been in office for 20 years come that time.

In the meantime, RÚV reports, according to the newest Gallup poll on the subject, only 55.5% of those reached even responded to the question of who they would vote for president in 2016. Of those who had a response, only 38% had an opinion on the matter, with everyone else saying they either had no position or had not yet decided.

Of those who had decided, however, 21% said they wanted Jón Gnarr to run; 17% chose Left-Green chairperson Katrín Jakóbsdóttir and only 11% chose Ólafur Ragnar.

Before you get your hopes up, bear in mind Jón Gnarr has already said he will not run, and Katrín has said that she does not see herself running.

The next Icelandic presidential elections will be held on August 1, 2016.
