This Saturday, the city of Reykjavík will celebrate the diversity of its residents with the Multicultural Day festival.

According to the programme of events, the fun begins with a march down Skólavörðustígur from Hallgrímskirkja at 13:00, culminating in numerous activities at Reykjavík City Hall. These include offerings of food, trying clothing from different cultures, performances of dance and music from around the world, and more.

Then at 14:30, at the theatre Tjarnarbíó (just behind City Hall), festivities will continue with the showing of three short films, and more festivities.

Fun for the whole family will be had, as the capital celebrates – for the seventh year running – the diverse backgrounds that Reykjavík residents hail from.

For more information, in English and Icelandic, visit the city’s page on the event.
