Scout Movement And Golf Club Receive Cultural Grants

Ministry of Science, Education and Culture continued to broaden its definition of culture, this time allotting grants earmarked for professional development in the field of culture” to the Scout Movement and a golf club, Vísir reports.

In all, 35 grants were awarded based on 107 applications. Of the total of 66,850,000 ISK awarded, the Scout Movement received 3 million, golf club Leynir got 5 million and the Icelandic Youth Association indirectly got 14.3 million.

Some of the grants went to traditional sources of culture, Reykjavík Dance Festival 2015 got 2.5 million and the coalition of independent theatres got 3 million.
