Congratulations, Jóhann!

Congratulations, Jóhann!

Composer Jóhann Jóhannsson has just been awarded a Golden Globe for his score to the film Theory of Everything, royally kicking the ass of lauded contemporaries like Trent Reznor and Hans Zimmer (in your face, Trent!).

Based on Jane Hawking’s memoir, Travelling to Infinity: My Life with Stephen, the film Theory of Everything is a biopic detailing the love story of astrophysicist Stephen Hawking and fellow Cambridge student Jane Wilde (the future Mrs. Hawking).

Here’s Jóhann’s acceptance speech:

Curious about this Jóhann Jóhannsson fellow? Here’s an interview. And here’s another one.

The below YouTube vid purports to contain Jóhann’s soundtrack. It’s probably illegal, and you should buy it anyway to support the artist. Think of this as a sneak peak.
