Secure Your Trampolines; High Wind Warning In Effect

Published June 26, 2013

The Reykjavík Fire Department is urging residents of the capital area to be prepared for high winds that are forecasted today by securing their trampolines and other garden furniture to the ground.
With near gale-force winds expected to be blowing at 13-20 meters per second, according to the Meteorological Office, any loose furniture left outdoors has the potential to cause property damage, RÚV reports. The Meteorological Office is also reminding drivers to leave their trailers at home today, as the winds make it unsafe to drive with trailers attached.
The southeast winds are expected to blow throughout the day and will continue tomorrow as well.
