Parents of cloth diaper-clad kids are invited to head out to Kópavogur this Saturday to break the Guiness World Records Diaper Changing Challenge!
The Great Cloth Diaper Change, as it is being called, takes place on April 20 all over the world simultaneously. It is the third consecutive year for the event, the first of which won the record with 8251 diaper-changers worldwide. Now the devoted cloth diaper people of Iceland want to join the honourable effort of breaking that record by getting wrist deep in poopie.
This event also aims to promote the use of cloth diapers as a modern, healthy and environmentally friendly alternative to plastic diapers. There are currently 19 small businesses in Iceland which sell handmade cloth diapers over the internet, some of whom will be present at the event to give parents a chance to do some serious diaper shopping.
All parents of diaper-aged children who use non-disposable cloth buttwrappers are welcome to the event, provided their child is under one metre tall. It takes place at 11:00 in Salaskóli. There will be a market, hot food, baked goods, prizes and lots of free parking. For more information and to sign up for the event, go to Litlaljosid.is.
