An Icelandic psychologist is touting the value of a children’s book aimed toward assisting young people in dealing with the increased pressure being placed on them by society, Vísir reports.
Árný Ingvarsdóttir has espoused the benefits of Marne Viegas’ book “Aladdin and the Magic Carpet” to teach children the value of relaxation and calming down as a means to deal with stress and to successfully tackle the challenges they face in life. She notes that her research has repeatedly shown that relaxation and meditation has a positive effect on the mental and physical health of children.
Marne’s book has already been successfully in schools in Iceland, after being translated to Icelandic by Árný.
