Iceland’s Eurovision Entry Selected

The time has come again for Icelanders and Iceland-lovers alike to get their hopes up. Iceland’s 2013 Eurovision Song Contest contender has been chosen and it’s… EYÞÓR INGI GUNNLAUGSSON!

Eyþór bested the competition at Harpa on 2 February with his entry “Ég á Líf” and will go on to represent Iceland in Malmö, Sweden, in May of this year.

Seven finalists sang their hearts out in hopes of representing Iceland, but after the jury and fans, casting votes by phone, had their say only two contenders were left standing, Eyþór and Unnur Eggertsdóttir, with her entry “Ég Syng!” After a final round of voting from the general public the honour of performing at the annual celebration of European pop was bestowed upon Eyþór.

This could be our year, you guys!
