Postcards From the Edge – Ólafur Arnalds

In the run up to Iceland Airwaves, we at Grapevine Towers often receive missives, intriguing data packets and other such stuff from artists who are away from the Motherland, letting us know what they’re getting up to. Whether it’s playing in New York, hiking in Sweden, or lost and penniless in Bangkok.

Some of them are so interesting that we thought it would only be right to share them with you, the Grapevine reader. First off is a nice note we received from the delightful Ólafur Arnalds who apparently was in Berlin….

Dear Airwaves Grapevine readers,

I just arrived in Berlin where preparations for the Erased Tapes label tour are starting. We start rehearsing tomorrow and from Monday on we will have 14 shows in a row spread all over Europe, concluding in Istanbul just in time for more even madness at Iceland Airwaves.
But right now it’s time for some of Nils Frahm’s homemade pizza – The beautiful (and tasty) calm before the storm.
