From Iceland — Airwaves Tipsters: Teitur Magnússon

Airwaves Tipsters: Teitur Magnússon

Published October 24, 2016

Our next Airwaves Tipster is Teitur Magnússon, a firm favourite in Iceland for his band Ojba Rasta, his solo work, and for the relaxed and positive energy he brings to the stage (and to life generally). Here’s what Teitur is looking forward this year.

I’m performing at NASA the first night of Airwaves this year. The stage is going to be packed with a lot of musically gifted friends of mine, before, during and after my set. So I’m happy to recommend all of them as a great way to start the festival!

Just after my show we have Snorri Helgason from Sprengjuhöllin, Gosar and Saab—a great friend and collaborator through the years. His new stuff really hits the spot!

After Snorri comes Tilbury—the best indie rockers around.

They are followed up by Moses Hightower—neo-soul R&B-funk masters of the north.

All of these outfits have loads of hits under their belts and are gonna showcase some new stuff too. So I’m very honoured to be a part of this whole shebang!

Other then that, I’ll also be checking out Cryptochrome, Ljóðfæri, Dizzee Rascal, múm, The Sonics, Mr. Silla, Digable Planets and THROWS.
