In accompaniment to our recent interview with Bedroom Community-signed musician and composer Jodie Landau, we’re happy to premiere his new video, for the track “As I Wait For The Lion.” The song was made in collaboration with his L.A.-based music collective, wild up, and is taken from the album “You Of All Things.”

The video was made by Samantha Shay of the source material collective, with whom Jodie collaborated on a theatre piece called “of Light” earlier this year.

On the making of the video, Samantha says: “When Jodie and I first talked, he sent me the whole album. I was immediately really inspired by Jodie’s relationship to gender, and sort of enamored by his feminine sensibilities, and fluidity with expressing himself so vulnerably. There is a kind of liminal lunar watery feeling to his music, and so I wanted to play with him and I as aspects of one another, perhaps masculine and feminine archetypes, although even those terms feel limiting.”

Jodie Landau will perform as part of the Bedroom Community Whale Watching Tour during Airwaves, at Harpa, on November 3rd. Read our in-depth interview with Jodie here.
