FESTIVAL MADNESS YEAH!

FESTIVAL MADNESS YEAH!

What’s the best thing to help with the post-festival blues?

Some might say staying in bed with a ready supply of Parkodin and Coca-Cola; some might say jogging, water and some kind of paleolithic food regimen. I say: NO! The answer is more music festivals, of course.

With that in mind, Sónar Reykjavík and Eistnaflug today unveiled more big names to joint their star-studded 2015 lineups.

Sónar will see: TV On The Radio returning to Iceland for the first time since their memorable Airwaves show in 2003, joined by the languid disco-pop of Kindness, Swedish singer and rapper Elliphant, and British producer and Mute Records founder Daniel Miller.

Also announced  for Sónar are Sophie (UK), Randomer (UK), Sin Fang, Ghostigital, Fufanu, Gervisykur, Sean Danke, Exos, DJ Yamaho and DJ Margeir.

They join a bill that already includes bearded party guy Todd Terje (NO), Nina Kraviz (RU), Nisennenmondai (JP), Yung Lean & Sad Boys (SE), Alizzz (SP), Mugison, Samaris, Prins Póló, Young Karin, Uni Stefson, and bespectacled womp-womp pioneer Skrillex.

The festival happens at Harpa in February 2015. Tickets are available on sale now from Harpa.isMidi.is & Tix.is at 18,900 ISK.

For Eistnaflug, the festival today announced some more acts that’ll be playing the well-loved east-coast rock and heavy-music oriented festival Eistnaflug (the name is a wordplay – based on the name of a different festival “Neistnaflug,” or “sparks fly” – that translates roughly into “testicle flight”).

Acts now announced for Einstaflug are as follows:

Behemoth (PL)
Brain Police (IS)
Börn (IS)
Conan (UK)
Dimma (IS)
Enslaved (NO)
Godflesh (UK)
