We had the pleasure recently of attending the opening of The Weather Diaries, showing now at The Nordic House. This sumptuous touring exhibition takes the fashion design of the arctic and sub-arctic island communities of Iceland, Greenland and The Faroe Islands as its inspiration and subject matter, but in the hands of artist duo Cooper & Gorfer, the work is elevated to a stunning aesthetic level. From dreamlike installations of traditional and contemporary fashion to rich, dark, textured photography presented against deep grey walls, this show is a must see.

Expect our in-depth review and interview with Cooper & Gorfer in the next weeks. The show is open 11:00-17:00 daily, including during Easter, and is 1000 ISK entry or 500 for students. There’s a detailed and fascinating catalogue on the project on sale in the Nordic House shop.
