Icelandic actress Hera Hilmarsdóttir (Hera Hilmars) has won film festival Berlinale’s ‘Shooting Star” award for the lead role in the Icelandic movie ‘Life In A Fishbowl’ (AKA Vonarstræti) by Baldvin Zophoníasson.

In the film, Hera plays a  single mother, Eik, who has to manage daily life under much duress, tackling family problems and personal struggles.

The award category ‘Berlinale Shooting Stars’ is a unique pan-European initiative that places the spotlight on Europe’s best young actors. It is meant to  put emerging new acting talent at the forefront for the busy film and entertainment agenda, which unfolds each year at the Berlin International Film Festival.
