Tailoring Students Auction Original Designs For Charity

Students in the dressmaking and tailoring program at Reykjavík’s Technical School are auctioning their original fashions in order to raise money for the Red Cross of Iceland. Each of the garments on auction were designed and handmade by students, and exhibited in a fashion show at Tjarnarbíó last weekend. Many of the designs made use of altered pieces which students found at Red Cross stores in Reykjavík.
The student designers are in the process of uploading all their auction pieces on a Facebook page. Individuals who are interested in bidding on an item can do so by suggesting a price under the item photo. When all of the items have been added to the Facebook page, the final auction deadline will be announced; the auction is expected to continue through the weekend. Auction winners will be notified via Facebook.
All proceeds from the auction will go directly to the Red Cross.
