From Iceland — Your Airwaves Experience on Live Project

Your Airwaves Experience on Live Project

Published October 14, 2010

For the first time, Airwaves festival goers will be able to stream their concert videos and photos straight from their mobile phone to a new real time video and photo blog, liveproject.is.
“The idea is that you can be in a concert with your phone, record and take photos and send it directly via email or mms to live@liveproject.is and it instantly pops up on website, creater Hörður Kristbjörnsson said. “It’s a great way to share the festival vibe with everyone, to see off-venue gigs, or something you really wanted to see but missed.”
What’s different about liveproject.is compared to, say, Twitter? Well unlike Twitter, which enables photo and video uploads to a personal profile, liveproject.is brings people’s experience to a broader audience. “Its a community, we want to capture what it feels like to be in Reykjavik during Airwaves so people around the world can be part of the atmosphere.”
Hörður hopes Airwaves will be the first of many liveproject.is events. “This is experimental broadcasting. We want to develop it further to incorporate events such as Fashion Week and other concerts.”
