A new Gallup poll shows that while levels of support for Iceland's government ministers vary, the highest level of support barely breaks the 50% mark.

RÚV reports on the new Gallup poll, which asked respondents how satisfied or unsatisfied they were with the work different government ministers are doing.

Coming out on top was Minister of Education and Cultural Affairs Katrín Jakobsdóttir - about 50% said they were satisfied with the job she has been doing thus far.

Other ministers did not fare as well. Only about 25% are satisfied with the work of Prime Minister Jóhanna Sigurðardóttir and Minister of Foreign Affairs Össur Skarphéðinsson, while about 30% said they were pleased with the work of Minister of Welfare Guðbjartur Hannesson, Minister of the Interior Ögmundur Jónasson, Minister of Industries and Innovation Steingrímur J. Sigfússon and Minister of Finance Katrín Júlíusdóttir.

Minister for the Environment Svandís Svavarsdóttir finished last, with only 22% happy with the work she is doing.

While satisfaction with government ministers appears to favour the Leftist-Greens, that party is currently polling at just 9.1%, far behind the 19.1% the Social Democrats have.
