reports that the club Manhattan held their first wet T-shirt contest last Saturday. Daníel Sæmundsson, the owner of the club, said that the announcement of the event had gotten mixed reactions.
The announcement of the contest specifically asked for young women to arrive, not wearing bras but wearing plain white T-shirts. Ice cold water would be poured over them while on display for the audience, and the winner of the contest would be determined by loudness of applause.
Regardless of how it works, Daníel contends that the event does not qualify as a display of nudity. "Wet T-shirt contest or beauty contest - what's the difference?," he said. "There's more nudity in a fitness competition than they'll be at this contest. All the girls will be wearing T-shirts."
A club owner who held a wet T-shirt contest at his establishment denies that the event qualifies as a display of nudity.
