Weird Girls Project In China

Published January 10, 2012

The Weird Girls Project has met with some success in China, having been chosen as Converse China’s sponsored international artist 2012.
In a statement to the media, the group states that one member, Kitty Von Sometime, “will travel to China in March and go on a tour around the country filming 5 Episodes in different locations. There will be different women participating in each piece local to the area they are being produced. The pieces will be produced by the end of April and will be released as a series in July.”
This will not be their first trip to China. Kitty was in the country last November, taking photos for the purpose of “an exploration of how the Chinese women reacted to the principle of the Project and let go of their boundaries and reservations.” The experience was a new one for Kitty, but was apparently well-received.
“Converse China chose to support the project as the process of ‘letting go’ of personal boundaries is a new and appealing concept in China,” the statement says.
Below is a video of their work in Shanghai.
