Special Prosecutor Charging Former Kaupþing And Landsbanki Execs

Published March 19, 2013

The Special Prosecutor is laying charges against two former directors of the failed Kaupþing bank and several administrators of Landsbanki, RÚV reports.
The executives and administrators are being charged with market manipulation. The former Kaupþing execs are said to have been artificially boosting the value of the bank, and the Landsbanki administrators were manipulating the market using bank shares.
This is by far the largest case that the Special Prosecutor has taken on in the years following the collapse and is the largest such case of its kind in the world.
