From Iceland — Reykjavík Named Top Summer Party Spot

Reykjavík Named Top Summer Party Spot

Published March 31, 2011

An Australian-based company has named Reykjavík a top destination this summer, primarily for the sheer amounts of alcohol consumed here.
The company in question, HotelsCombined, put together a top ten list of summer destinations for the tourist who wants to party this summer. All the places listed are singled out for how much you can drink there, and Reykjavík is no exception.
“In summer, Reykjavik gets 22 hours of daylight, so what better reason do you need to have a (long) day party,” the site says in part. “Reykjavik has become famous for its music scene and crazy Friday night pub crawls, known as rúntur. What else can you expect from a place that has a holiday called Beer Day?”
Reykjavík shares the honour of being a town where you can get very drunk with London, Berlin, New York and Tel Aviv.
HotelsCombined is an aggregate website that compiles hotel prices, package deals and special offers from around the world.
