VIDEO: Protestors Shut Down Landsbankinn

Published October 19, 2010

A group of around fifty very, very loud protestors managed to shut down the Austurstræti branch of Landsbankinn earlier today. They did this by banging on steel drums so loudly that bank employees probably felt their brain was melting and couldn’t manage to do any of that complicated bank math they’re always working on.
Our most excellent all-round genius Páll Hilmarsson shot this video outside of Landsbankinn at around three o’clock today. As of the time of writing they are still banging, and they are still angry.

The group of protestors is not an official one (although someone must have organised how to get all those drums out there). The signs and discourse around the thing suggest they are protesting the facts that Landsbankinn, among other banks, are writing off a lot of debt from their friends, while mercilessly hammering down on the common debtor.
