Icelandic president Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson, in a video statement to the world at large, is inviting people to his home to eat Icelandic pancakes and fresh vegetables.
The video is a part of a larger campaign being conducted by Inspired By Iceland, wherein Icelanders invite tourists to their homes to enjoy everything from kayaking to home-made ice cream.
The president is inviting tourists to the presidential residence at Bessastaðir for Icelandic pancakes served with sugar and cream, while adding that his wife Dorrit Moussaieff is more health-conscious, and will be offering fresh vegetables grown in the presidential greenhouses.
Other Icelanders include actor Felix Bergsson offering Icelandic salmon, Minister of Industry and Tourism Katrín Júlíusdóttir offering a footbath in a natural spring, Reykjavík mayor Jón Gnarr offering Icelandic sushi and Mugison offering to perform in your hotel room.
