Police Have Multiple Night Time Run-Ins With Drunks

Published February 26, 2013

It was a busy night for the po-po last night, Vísir reports.
Reykjavík police were called to the scene of a restaurant in the city centre late last night to deal with a rowdy drunk tourist. The tourist was quite confrontational with the police when they arrived to apprehend him, but he was outnumbered and was taken into custody where he likely later awoke with a killer headache and slight sense of shame.
Meanwhile in Hafnarfjörður, police were dispatched to remove an intoxicated man from the home of his mother. Calling the cops on ones own child must feel like a magical right of passage.
Back in the city centre, a drunk was able to slip behind the wheel of a car before his date with the police. He caused an accident at the corner of Lækjargata and Bankastræti and fled the scene on foot. Justice was served, however, as the police later apprehended the driver and arrested him.
Just another night for the hard working men and women of law enforcement.
